The tallest in the world statue of social justice to be installed in Andhra Pradesh. It’s 125 ft height is one of the main features of the architect of the Indian constitution, BR Ambedkar.

 On 19th January 2024, The government of Andhra Pradesh is set to unveil the world's tallest statue of BR Ambedkar, known as the architect of the Indian Constitution, in Vijayawada. 

Popularly known as the ‘Statue of Social Justice’ it will be included in the list of the top 50 tallest statues in the world. The second-tallest Ambedkar statue, which is 175 feet, is situated in neighboring Telangana. Last year, the tallest Ambedkar statue was unveiled outside India, in Maryland, United States.

To this, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy wrote,

The Main features of the Statue of Ambedkar

  1. The world's tallest statue of Ambedkar, standing at a height of 125 feet, is mounted on an 81-foot pedestal.
  2. The project to construct this statue involved an expenditure of ₹404.35 crore and spans across 18.81 acres of land, forming a lush green park.
  3. Entirely executed as a 'Made in India' initiative, the statue, known as the 'Statue of Justice,' was crafted from approximately 400 tonnes of steel, covering all stages from material sourcing to design.
  4. The vicinity surrounding the statue, including the Swaraj Maidan where it is situated, underwent redevelopment. Notable additions include water features in the forecourt, a three-sided peripheral water body surrounding the pedestal, and a musical water fountain.
  5. The site is further enhanced with modern amenities such as LED screens showcasing Ambedkar's life, a convention center with a seating capacity of 2,000, an 8,000 sq ft food court, and a dedicated children's playing area.

Additionally, the Chief Minister will also address Samajik Samata Sankalpa Sabha at Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium. Entries for the visitors to the prestigious memorial would begin on January 20th.
