Tesla, the renowned electric car manufacturer, has appointed Indian-origin Vaibhav Taneja, as its new Chief Financial Officer following the departure of former CFO Zachary Kirkhorn. The announcement was made via an official company filing on Monday. 

Kirkhorn posts on LinkedIn to announce his resignation.

Zachary Kirkhorn revealed his decision to step down from his role through a LinkedIn post, stating, "This morning Tesla announced that I’ve stepped down from my role as Chief Financial Officer, succeeded by our Chief Accounting Officer, Vaibhav Taneja."

Kirkhorn expressed pride in the accomplishments achieved during his 13-year tenure at Tesla. Further, he extended gratitude to the dedicated employees who contributed to the company's success. He also thanked Tesla's CEO, Elon Musk, for his inspirational leadership.

Who is Vaibhav Taneja?

Vaibhav Taneja, the newly appointed CFO, held the position of Chief Accounting Officer since March 2019 and had previously served as Corporate Controller starting from May 2018. 

Taneja's contributions also extend to his role as Assistant Corporate Controller, which he held between February 2017 and May 2018. 

He also worked at SolarCity Corporation, a US-based solar panel developer, in 2016, where he held various finance and accounting positions. 

Taneja was also employed at PricewaterhouseCoopers in India and the US from July 1999 to March 2016. 

This transition in Tesla's financial leadership marks a significant development for the company as it continues to drive innovation in the electric vehicle and sustainable energy sectors.
