Washington, D.C. – In a high-energy and defiant address to a joint session of Congress, Donald Trump proclaimed that “America is back”, marking the start of what he called the "golden age of America." With Republicans chanting "USA! USA!", Trump reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to economic revival, national security, and dismantling ‘woke’ policies while taking direct jabs at Democrats and President Joe Biden.

Speaking just 43 days into his new term, Trump boasted of achieving more in this short span than most administrations do in years. He credited his leadership for restoring America’s strength and assured citizens that “the best is yet to come.”

The ‘Golden Age of America’ Begins

Setting the tone for his speech, Trump revisited his inaugural promise of a renewed America, calling his administration’s return a turning point for prosperity, strength, and patriotism.

“Just six weeks ago, I stood beneath this Capitol’s dome and spoke of the ‘dawn of the golden age of America.’ Since then, we have taken swift and decisive action to bring about one of the most successful periods in our nation’s history.”

He highlighted economic growth, deregulation efforts, and a resurgence in domestic manufacturing, assuring Americans that his policies would usher in an unparalleled era of success.

Disruptions & Democrat Walkout

Despite the applause from his Republican supporters, the House chamber saw moments of chaos. Speaker Mike Johnson had to restore order as some lawmakers repeatedly interrupted Trump’s speech.

At least 10 Democrats walked out in protest, donning black T-shirts with messages like "RESIST" and "NO KINGS LIVE HERE." Among them were Representative Jasmine Crockett and Maxwell Frost, signaling their opposition to Trump’s return.

Trump’s Direct Swipe at Democrats

Trump did not hold back in his criticism of Democrats, accusing them of political obstruction and blind opposition.

"I look at the Democrats in front of me and realize there is absolutely nothing I can say to make them happy, to make them stand, smile, or applaud. Nothing I do will be enough."

He further mocked them by stating:

"I could find a cure for the most devastating disease that could wipe out entire nations, and these people sitting right here would not clap or celebrate."

His remarks drew laughter and applause from Republicans, while Democrats remained seated in silence.

‘Woke No More’ – Trump Declares an End to DEI Policies

Trump took aim at diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies, promising to eradicate “woke ideology” from the government, private sector, and military.

"Our country will be woke no longer. We’ve ended the tyranny of so-called diversity policies across the federal government, businesses, and the military."

His remarks signaled a full reversal of Biden-era DEI programs, aligning with his administration’s push for merit-based governance.

April 2: Trump Announces Reciprocal Tariffs

Taking a hard stance on trade, Trump announced a new wave of reciprocal tariffs starting April 2.

"Whatever they tax us, we will tax them. If they impose non-monetary barriers to keep us out, we will do the same to them. America will not be taken advantage of anymore."

He specifically called out India, China, the European Union, and Brazil, criticizing them for charging disproportionately high tariffs on American imports.

Trump Praises Elon Musk & Economic Optimism

Amid economic discussions, Trump praised Elon Musk, calling him a visionary entrepreneur who has contributed to American innovation and job creation.

"Elon Musk and other great business leaders are pushing the limits of American excellence. We must support and empower them to build the industries of tomorrow."

Trump Reveals Zelenskyy’s Call for Peace

Shifting focus to foreign affairs, Trump revealed a letter from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, expressing readiness for peace negotiations.

"Ukraine is ready to come to the negotiating table to bring lasting peace. My team and I are prepared to work under President Trump’s leadership to achieve a deal that lasts."

Trump also claimed that Russia has sent signals that they, too, are ready for peace talks.

Biden Blasted as ‘Worst President in History’

Taking one of his sharpest swipes at President Joe Biden, Trump declared him the “worst president in American history.”

"Within hours of my first term, I declared a national emergency at the border and deployed the US military. But under Joe Biden—the worst president in history—we saw record illegal crossings."

He emphasized that Biden’s policies weakened national security and vowed tougher immigration laws.

No Taxes on Tips & Overtime

In a significant economic promise, Trump pledged to eliminate taxes on tips, overtime pay, and social security benefits for seniors.

"We will cut taxes where it matters most—hardworking Americans should keep their hard-earned money."

However, economic analysts warn that making Trump’s 2017 tax cuts permanent could increase the federal deficit, raising concerns about long-term financial stability.

A Defiant Trump Sets the Stage for the Future

Ending on a triumphant note, Trump declared:

"The golden age of America has only just begun."

As Republicans roared in approval, it was evident that Trump had successfully fired up his base, setting the tone for a high-stakes battle leading up to the next election.
