Trump criticizes Biden’s pardon for Hunter Biden, calling it a 'miscarriage of justice' amid Capitol riot protests.

Donald Trump has strongly criticized President Joe Biden’s decision to pardon his son, Hunter Biden, who was facing charges for gun crimes and tax violations. Trump called the move a "miscarriage of justice," and said it was unfair, especially when compared to the treatment of people arrested during the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot.

Trump posted on Truth Social, asking, “Does the Pardon given by Joe to Hunter include the J-6 Hostages, who have now been imprisoned for years? Such an abuse and miscarriage of justice!” He referred to the people arrested in connection with the Capitol attack as "J-6 Hostages." Trump and his supporters believe those arrested during the riot are being unfairly punished, claiming they were just peacefully protesting. Many of these individuals are still in jail, awaiting trial, and Trump has previously said that if he becomes president again, he would consider pardoning them.

On Sunday, President Biden signed the pardon for his son Hunter, who had been convicted of illegal gun possession and not paying taxes. The pardon means Hunter Biden will not face jail time for these offenses. Biden explained that people in similar situations, like those with addiction problems, are often given non-criminal resolutions, and he felt Hunter’s case should be treated the same way.

Biden has also emphasized that he is committed to not interfering in legal matters, including those involving his family. The pardon sparked political debate, with many Republicans accusing Biden of using his power to protect his son, while others argue it was the right decision given Hunter’s struggles with addiction.

Trump’s comments reflect the ongoing political tensions, as both he and Biden prepare for the upcoming presidential election, with each side using issues like pardons to rally their supporters.
