A recent nationwide survey shows that more and more Indians are suffering from a variety of mental health issues. In India, There are fewer psychiatrists and more people, who think suffering in silence will end all this.
Pratima Murthy, director of NIMHANS, told DW that about 10% of the population is diagnosed with Mental Health. He even emphasized the treatment for mental disorders as a necessity rather than just a luxury.

The factors are excessive workload, unnecessary obligations, unrealistic deadlines, and high expectations which lead to lack of sleep, unhealthy eating routines, etc. that sums up a red alert and indications of workplace stress.
Out of every individual adult working, about 15% of those adults have to survive through these stresses. Without adequate support, mental illnesses and other mental health concerns can have an impact on a person's ability to work successfully, ability to manage absences, and ease of retaining or obtaining employment. Furthermore, even though employment is crucial for recovery, those with serious mental illnesses are frequently excluded from it. Mental health problems can affect individuals, communities, families, carers, coworkers, and society as a whole. The lost productivity caused by depression and anxiety costs the global economy $1 trillion annually.
About 1 in every 4 people are victims of mental health issues which eventually lead to suicides. To this Shraddha Reghe, Senior Director- of People Practice at Seclore, stated, “The economic impact is significant, with an estimated cost of $6 trillion by 2030. Stigma and discrimination create barriers to seeking help. Mental health is essential for achieving Sustainable Development Goals, including good health, poverty reduction, gender equality, and resilient communities,”
This speaks of how Mental Health Counseling at workplaces is a must. On account of World Mental Health Day Indian Actor Amir Khan spoke on its importance. Aamir Khan, however, is not the first well-known person to publicly discuss having mental health issues. Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt, two Bollywood diva stars, have previously spoken about their struggles with mental illness.

The theme of this year’s World Mental Health Day was Mental health is a universal human right. To give a message on the same, In Birmingham, England, young people were invited to participate in a discussion called "Exploring Our Emotional Worlds," which was hosted by Prince William and Princess Kate. Kate spoke on stage during the occasion about the significance of eradicating the stigma associated with mental health.
What do we want to achieve by concentrating on mental health? Ultimately, she stated on stage, “What are we trying to improve by focusing our efforts on mental health? Ultimately, we are working to build a happier, healthier world,” she said onstage. “We want to shape fairer, safer, kinder, more equal societies—societies that seek the common good and a better future together.”
