Logitech Keys-To-Go Review: The Perfect Portable Keyboard?
Many of us juggle work and life on the go, making lugging around bulky equipment a real hassle. A good portable keyboard can be a lifesaver, but many fall short of desktop standards. The Logitech Keys-To-Go, however, is different. This review dives into my experience using it over a week, focusing on its design, features, and overall performance.
Design + Features
The Keys-To-Go boasts a compact yet functional design. Incredibly thin and lightweight (just 220 grams!), it easily slips into any bag. A foldable cover not only protects the keyboard but also provides a comfortable typing angle. While smaller than a standard keyboard, the key spacing is surprisingly generous. The difference between the Q-P key distance on the MX Keys Mini (187mm) and the Keys-To-Go (177mm) is just 10mm, impressively distributed across fewer, smaller keys. The reduction in size mostly affects less frequently used keys (brackets, Enter, Backspace etc.), maintaining comfortable typing on the most used keys.
It seamlessly pairs with multiple devices (iPad, Android tablets, phones etc.) via Bluetooth, allowing easy switching between sources. Logi Options+ software (Windows/Mac) provides customization options and effortless updates. The Keys-To-Go supports a wide range of operating systems including Android 12.0+, ChromeOS, Windows 10+, iPadOS 17+, iOS 17+, and macOS 14+. A notable omission is a dedicated home button for mobile devices, but the multitasking button and Alt-Tab functionality effectively compensate.
Performance
I used the Keys-To-Go extensively for various tasks – reviews, articles, and emails – and typing was comfortable, despite the slightly smaller keys and different key travel compared to my standard MX Keys Mini keyboard. The key pitch remains excellent, matching my desktop keyboard almost perfectly. Battery life, using a replaceable coin battery, is rated for a remarkable 36 months.
Should You Buy It?
The Logitech Keys-To-Go delivers an excellent typing experience in a remarkably compact and lightweight package. The $129 price tag might seem steep, but for mobile professionals who rely on tablets or phones for work, the convenience and comfort it offers are well worth the investment. The protective cover adds an extra layer of convenience. I highly recommend this keyboard.
