Finally! Some *Hollow Knight: Silksong* News!
Okay, people, let's talk about Hollow Knight: Silksong. For years, we've been practically begging for updates. I mean, years. Remember that agonizing wait? The endless speculation? It was brutal. So, you can imagine the collective gasp (and maybe a few happy screams) when it *finally* got a tiny spotlight during the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct. Tiny being the operative word, as you'll soon see.
A Glitchy Surprise
Honestly, who saw that coming? The Silksong footage was revealed... during a total technical meltdown! The Nintendo Direct feed froze – on YouTube, on Twitch, everywhere! It was a bit of a slow-motion trainwreck, honestly. Several game reveals, including our precious Silksong, were almost completely missed live. I had to go back and watch the recording to catch a glimpse. It was a frantic scramble to find out what we'd missed. But hey, at least we got *something*!
What We Actually Saw (A Few Precious Seconds)
The few precious seconds of gameplay showed Hornet in action – her signature agile moves, the stunning environments... enough to reignite the hype train. Even with the technical difficulties, we saw enough to get our hopes up again. The environments looked gorgeous. The animation was flawless. My excitement levels shot through the roof.
What We Know (and Don't Know)
So, what did we learn for sure? Well, Nintendo confirmed a 2025 release for the Nintendo Switch 2. Team Cherry, the brilliant developers who've been keeping mum since, like, 2019, also gave a little nudge on social media. Silksong is coming to Nintendo Switch (both the original and the new one!), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam). And day one on Xbox Game Pass! Awesome.
They're promising a huge new kingdom to explore, a whole new arsenal for Hornet, and over 150 new enemies to battle! The Steam page gives a little more detail – including a challenging "Silk Soul Mode" for those who like a real challenge. I'm already making space on my hard drive.
The Long Wait (Almost Over?)
Despite the announcement, an exact release date remains frustratingly elusive. That radio silence from Team Cherry? It’s made us all a bit twitchy, let's be honest. The possibility of more delays lingered in the air. However, with this recent announcement, and those prior ratings confirmations, it really does feel like we're in the final stretch.
