Adani Green Energy, the renewable energy arm of Ports-to-Power conglomerate Adani Group, has announced the commission of the world's largest 600 MW hybrid power plant in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
The wind-solar hybrid plant has been developed by two subsidiaries of Adani Green: Adani Hybrid Energy Jaisalmer Two and Adani Hybrid Energy Jaisalmer Three. According to the official statement, the plant is employed with the latest technology such as bifacial solar modules and horizontal single-axis tracker technology & consists of 600 MW Solar and 150 MW Wind plants.
S&P forecasts Indian growth rate at 7.3%. Heres why!
The plant has a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India at Rs 2.69/kWh for 25 years. The plant will reduce the intermittency of renewable energy and improve the utilization of the country's transmission network.
This plant comes less than 2 weeks after the Group commissioned another plant in MP. AGEL was also credited for commissioning India's first 325 MW hybrid power plant in Jaisalmer in May 2022.
This plant brings the Group's operational energy portfolio up to 6.7 GW with a hybrid portfolio of 1 GW, which is the largest in the world. Moreover, it also puts the group's existing 20.4 GW portfolio on track to reach its vision of 45 GW capacity by 2030.
The stock of Adani Green had been falling for the past week as it declined 16.8% in 7 days. However, investors reacted positively to this news as the stock jumped 12.8% on Friday itself to close at Rs 2,260.80 per share.
