Though there never were any restrictions upon CAs to be IAS or IPS officers, things are being facilitated to a great extent.
Before jumping at the topic at hand, consider this. If you browse the internet or surf some random facts about CAs it is very common to see many videos comparing the powers of the CAs and Civil servants which is often a futile exercise. To compare both seems to be a wild goose chase as they both live in different professional worlds.
A CA can become a Civil Servant
An individual qualifying for the final CA examination has been recognized by the Government of India for recruitment to superior services/posts of the Government of India. As a result, candidates with a CA certificate are eligible for entrance to civil services examinations.
CA is a good choice if you enjoy accounting, can work long hours on client files, are strong with numbers, and have good focus strength. However, if you enjoy administration, are concerned about India as a citizen, and want to work for the government, the IAS is the superior option. Here again, we are not comparing the two, this contrast is to focus on those highly talented CAs who aspire to become IAS officers and have an inclination toward civil services.
Chartered Accountancy (CA) is one of the country's most sought-after and difficult professional courses. It is a prestigious and respected profession, and after completing the CA degree, some students decide to pursue a career in the Indian Civil Services. Some CAs have also gone on to become IAS officers.
But now the prestigious agency ICAI has made an important announcement that will benefit the aspiring students who want to become IAS.
