Mondelēz International recently posted revenue of $9,17 billion for the quarter ended March 2023. While this chocolate and cookie maker company was able to outperform the market, the question that would be in the mind of many investors is what it has in store for the next quarters.

As per the recent updates, Mondelēz International is elevating the position of the current president for India & Southeast Asia, Deepak Iyer. He will be positioned as the new executive vice president and president of AMEA (Asia, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa), this will be effective from June 5, 2023.

Chairman and CEO Dirk Van de Put has stated that this decision was made after looking into the performance trajectory of Iyer. With three decades of leadership experience, Iyer has been driving the growth of brands in the emerging market across Asia and Africa making him ideal to lead the AMEA region. 

Deepak would be responsible for leading the $6.8 billion AMEA business of Mondelez, which spreads across more than 70 countries. 

Iyer has been leading the business in India since 2016 and has been able to drive double-digit revenue growth. Further, expanding profit margins, strong cash flow generation, and adoption of advanced technologies. Iyer, being a qualified engineer and an MBA holder, had been the managing director of firms like PepsiCo, Wrigley India, and Marico.

With a three-decade of managerial experience, the company is placing all their hopes on Deepak and wishes to generate similar results as that of a 16% jump in FY22. Iyer will be replacing Maurizio Brusadelli, who is said to leave the company in June.
