Geoffrey Hinton, left Google so that he could warn the world about AI. He has been at Google for more than ten years. As per Geoffrey, he left his job to speak freely about its dangers without considering its impact on Google.

One of the brightest brains in the field of AI is Geoffrey. AI-related breakthroughs like speech recognition and computer vision were all parts of his commitment to the project. Hinton is known to have received a Nobel Price in Computing in 2018. Even his research on various aspects helped him a lot in forming technologies such as ChatGPT.

In a conversation with BBC, he reflected on his statement about “bad actors” and “bad things”. He believes that we are two different intelligence, one is digital, and the other our own biological. The chatbots can know much more than any other person as they have numerous copies in them, which can help them store information more than humans can.

As the rate of progress is increasing, things may get better quite fast and it can happen that AI may soon overtake the level of information the human brain can hold.

The man is known worldwide as the “Godfather of AI”, and has been working in the same field for decades. His views clearly tell us the potential risks with the development of AI.
