Today, you will find many clones of Wordle on the Internet worldwide but the New York Times has gripped the audience since 2022 Jan. A web-based word game, Wordle was developed by Welsh software engineer Josh Wardle. During each guess, colored tiles indicate when letters match or occupy the correct position, allowing players to make six attempts to guess the five-letter word. There are many similarities between the mechanics of the 1955 pen-and-paper game Jotto and the television game show franchise Lingo.
