In a remarkable entry into the world of technology, Pranjali Awasthi, a 16-year-old prodigy from India, has swiftly made a name for herself with her AI startup, Delv.AI.
During the Miami Tech Week event, Awasthi introduced her brainchild, revealing that she founded the company in January 2022 and managed to secure around $450,000 (equivalent to Rs 3.7 crore) in funding.
What's striking is that Delv.AI's LinkedIn profile already features a dedicated team of 10 professionals. During the event, Awasthi credited her father as the primary source of inspiration for her entrepreneurial journey.
Awasthi's fascination with technology ignited at a young age, kindled by her engineer father's enthusiasm for advancing computer science education in schools.
At the age of 11, when her family moved to Florida, new opportunities opened up, granting her access to computer science classes and competitive math programs.
By the time she was 13, Awasthi embarked on an internship and delved into machine learning projects while attending virtual high school due to the ongoing pandemic. It was during this period that OpenAI released the ChatGPT-3 beta, sparking the idea of leveraging AI for research data extraction and summarization.
A significant milestone in her journey was reached when she joined an AI startup accelerator in Miami, led by Lucy Guo and Dave Fontenot of Backend Capital. Awasthi's acceptance into the program symbolized her unwavering commitment to pursuing her dreams, even if it meant temporarily putting her high school education on hold. She revealed that the beta launch of Delv.AI on Product Hunt was met with exceptional success.
Awasthi leads a small but mighty team that manages all aspects of Delv.AI, from operations and customer support to coding.
