One of the best orators who lived in the hearts of the people. Atal Bihari was also a writer, a journalist, and a poet, who even is known to have impressed Jawaharlal Lal Nehru while addressing the house. Sadly, Yesterday marked the day when 92-year-old Atal took his last breath at AIIMS Delhi. 1. Speech on No- Confidence Motion in 1996

It was the May of 1996 when India saw this great leader rise and emerge as a Prime Minister. It is considered one of the best speeches which erupted cheers for the leader by the end of which he resigned stating his immense dedication to the nation. 

This debate which was held in the parliament was telecasted on then popular Doordarshan and held every citizen of India captive at a place. The speech was proof of his confidence in returning back to the power of people. This came true in 1998 and in 1999.

 

2. At BJP Adhivesan in Mumbai

India witnessed another strong speech from the House of People in 1997 where Vajpayee was a leader of the Opposition. His every word stated that he is determined to make India a much better place for future generations. The debate sparked on corruption charges against the government of Laly Prasad in Bihar. He kept all his points in the same firm tone which he’s known for against the misrule by the government in Bihar.

 

4. In Lok Sabha after the Pokhran Tests

Our nuclear weapons are meant purely as a deterrent against nuclear adventure by an adversary.

Atal faced a lot of criticism from the opposition for conducting the nuclear tests in Pokhran surrounded by the comments of the Congress Party. He stood to add some more words to the history of his best speeches and kept his point clear and understandable. 

In this commendable and outstanding speech, he stated that “ We have been the victims of three attacks. This fate should not repeat. We are not getting ready to attack anyone. We don’t have that intention.”
