The founders of Genrobotics Innovations, a leading robotics company based in Kerala, India, have been recognized in the prestigious 'Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2023' list for their groundbreaking social innovations and commitment to positive change.
Vimal Govind M.K., the CEO of Genrobotic Innovations, expressed his excitement about this global recognition, believing it will inspire young individuals to venture into the field. The achievement is regarded as a proud moment for the entire Genrobotics team, as they aim to continue creating groundbreaking technological solutions for the betterment of society. The co-founders had previously been featured in the 'Forbes India Under 30' list.
Established in 2017 as a startup in Technopark, Genrobotics was co-founded by Vimal Govind M.K., Arun George, Rashid K, and Nikhil N P. This Kerela-based company offers services to the healthcare, sanitation, and oil and gas industries and plans to create cleaning robots to meet all needs. It has developed a scavenger robot, Bandicoot, that can replace the illegal hand scavenging that is still fatal in India.
Bandicoot is the world's first robotic scavenger, which urban bodies have adopted throughout India. It has revolutionised the sanitation industry by replacing the need for manual entry into manholes for cleaning purposes, significantly improving the working conditions for sanitation workers.

Currently deployed in 17 states in India, 3 Union Territories, and ASEAN regions, the Bandicoot robots have positively impacted over 3,000 sanitation workers through the Mission Robohole project, providing training and employment opportunities as robotic operators.
The Bandicoot system consists of the robotic Tron Unit, equipped with waterproof, HD vision cameras and gas sensors. It allows it to identify harmful gases and remove sewage from manholes using its robotic limbs. Genrobotics' dedication to social impact and technological innovation was recognized with the 'Kerala Pride award at the Huddle Global 2022 conclave.
Along with Bandicoot, Genrobotics recently unveiled the G-Gaiter robot, which is intended to help people with paraplegic conditions brought on by stroke, traumatic spinal cord injury, and cerebral palsy.
This AI-powered robotic gait trainer, deployed at the Thanal Brain and Spine Medcity Centre in Kannur, enables medical professionals to customize therapy based on individual patient needs. The G-Gaiter aims to improve mobility, consistency, and the quality of gait patterns for paraplegic patients, facilitating their recovery process.
In a nutshell, Genrobotics' inclusion in the 'Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2023' list highlights their significant contributions to the robotics industry, their social impact, and their commitment to advancing society through innovative technological solutions.
