There are lots of expectations in society, and when we notice them deeply, they are all age-related expectations. First, the importance of settling in a career, starting a family, accumulating wealth, and finally leaving the rest for later. But some names have reassessed the true meaning of success and created a personal roadmap when their lives demanded rest and society's opinions instead.

Some names in this list are the founders of McDonalds, KFC, and The Huffington Post. Starting a business has never been limited to a college degree. People have often turned out to achieve much greater than what a piece of paper could have landed them. Businessmen often set an example in society by not letting their age define them and living a new life with their new businesses.

Veena Torchia's tale about moving to Pushkar and founding a Vegan Cafe was featured in a recent The Guardian piece. She says that “There’s a can-do attitude. No matter how little you have, everything is possible.” Today Torchia hosts many clients that are tourists and even some walk-in customers who devour some vegan delights offered in the curated menu. She has also highlighted that she feels like her own person for the first time and is living for the moment in her simple home in Pushkar.

We might have often heard our old peers saying they are tired and willing to start a quiet life. Still, it is hard for us to believe that there isn’t a part of them that would like to start fresh with the wisdom they have gained from life till now.

When we hear the term business or entrepreneurship our mind gets narrowed down to a confident person in his 20s or 30s heading in a new direction. While only some people believe and know the power of small steps and quality beginnings.

When Colonel Sander’s started, nobody thought that KFC will turn into a leading global chain. It all started when after serving the military Sander’s started a local food restaurant to serve fried chicken to some customers. Soon, Food lovers weren’t hard to find. The service station was founded by his friend in Utah.  He initially franchised KFC when he turned 62.

Later the billionaire even shared his wise words stating that He was sixty-six years old and still had to make some living. He made the decision to franchise the chicken dish after taking a glimpse at his social security check, which was for $105.

Do ideas see the right age before striking another goal in a person’s life? Sometimes it’s not always just the factor of money that drives a person to accomplish more. The story of Mcdonald's sparked in 1954 when Ray Kroc got impressed when he ate at a restaurant run by Mcdonald's brothers. Today the credit for the global expansion of Mc Donalds goes to Kroc who turned the venture into a most successful fast food cooperation.

In 1954, Ray Kroc when ate at a restaurant run by brothers Dick and Mac Donald. Being impressed by their food the following year only he turned the business into a franchise and created a system for Mc Donalds.

A business that this man led in his 50s reached about 7500 outlets around the world when he died in his 80s.

There are indeed a few things successful people have in common like desire, determination, a never giving up spirit, and after a certain age a fair share of wisdom.

Similar is the story of Arianna Huffington who started a well-read publication The Huffington Post, when she was 55. Arianna was an immigrant from Greece and worked as a writer and even penned documentaries. The news stories soon gained momentum and the site became one of the most influential blogs in the world.

Arianna Huffington quotes, I, like millions of other people around the world, had been suffering from the delusion that to succeed, we have to burn out.

She has also shared that it was the beginning of evaluating her life.

Some milestones may not get crossed at specific ages, but with experience, the goals and challenges faced can be countered. Today, this world has many opportunities to grow but still questions about the potential of the people in their middle ages. These years of life could be a trajectory for some, but if at any point you find yourself beginning a new chapter, let that be the best and most memorable.
