The Most Awaited Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir which has been in talks since 2019, is finally becoming a dream come true.
This 2024, India will be on the cusp of the cultural renaissance with the Consecration Ceremony of Ram Lalla at Ayodhya. Though, it is true that the debate around the historicity of Ayodhya will continue in the years to come.
In India, the name Ram symbolizes the core of the Indic value system, rooted in a humanitarian approach. To mark this special event, the managing committee of Shri Ram Mandir Teerth Kshetra has extended 8,000-10,000 invitations to dignitaries, including industrialists Gautam Adani, Mukesh Ambani, and Ratan Tata.
Invites have also been sent to actors Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, cricketers Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, and other celebrities like Randeep Hooda, Lin Laishram, Jackie Shroff, Tiger Shroff, and Dhanush, who will witness the occasion on January 22.
As the date of the inauguration of the Ram Temple is just 9 days later, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sent a special video message expressing his excitement and asking the nation for their respected wishes. Ahead of this grand Diwali-like celebration day in India, let’s explore the Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir.
Inside of Shri Ram Mandir
Recently, in a post on their X Account, ANI shared enchanting glimpses of Shri Ram Mandir during nighttime at Ayodhya.
Over 4,000 workers, including 460 craftsmen, have worked around the clock to prepare the ground floor of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir for the consecration ceremony. The temple, built in Nagara style, boasts towering spires known as Shikharas.
A Pink Sandstone is used to build the enchanting establishment which is spread across an area of 2.77 acres.
Surrounded by a large courtyard and several small shrines that are dedicated to other Hindu deities from that period.
Built over three floors with each one being 20-foot high, there are a total of 392 pillars and 44 doors in the complex. The Most talked about, the idol of Ram Lalla will be placed in the sanctum sanctorum. The Shri Ram Darbar will be placed on the first floor.
Next, there will be 5 Mandaps namely - Nritya Mandap, Rang Mandap, Sabha Mandap, Prarthana Mandap, and Kirtan Mandap.
The pillars and walls of the temple will be adorned by the statues of the deities and there will be mandirs at four compounds dedicated to Surya, Bhagwati, Ganesh, and Shiv.
On both the northern and the southern hemispheres, temples dedicated to Annapurna and Hanuman will be built. Temples of Maharishis like Valmiki, Vashishtha, Vishwamitra, Agastya, Nishad Raj, and Shabri will also be the center of attention.
Special care has been taken to let the elderly and differently-abled have a look at their beloved lord through the installation of Ramps and Lifts. There is also a separate block in the complex that has a bathing area and washroom.
About 25000 pilgrims will be offered facilities like medical and locker facilities at the pilgrim facility center. Most emphasis has also been given to environment and water conservation around the epic establishment with about 70% of the 70-acre area left for green.
Has Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir Became a Political Project?
Amidst the celebratory atmosphere and expectations of divine blessings from Shri Ram in India, the inauguration of the Ayodhya Shri Ram Temple has taken a political turn. The prominent spiritual leader in Sanatan Hindu Dharma, Jagatguru Shankaracharya, will not be participating in the ceremony.
PM Narendra Modi as the chief host for the ceremony has stirred concerns among many senior seers of the consecration ceremony scheduled in Ayodhya.
As per reports, “They feel that this places him at the forefront of the event, potentially undermining the traditional rituals dictated by the Sanatan Shastras. Despite the general excitement for the Ram Temple Consecration, the absence of Shankaracharya is a point of contention among devout Hindus,”
The opposition party Congress, including leaders Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, has chosen to respectfully decline the invitation to the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony.
This decision adds to the emotional and politically sensitive nature of the event, emphasizing the absence of an 'Ayodhya doctrine' in the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute.
Some party members argue that Congress's participation would inadvertently boost the Bhartiya Janata Party, leveraging the event as a key campaign point for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Despite the political undertones and the absence of certain key figures, the imminent consecration ceremony of Ayodhya's Ram Temple marks a significant milestone in India's cultural and spiritual landscape.
Amid widespread media coverage of the Ram Mandir, the installation of the first Golden Gate has captured global attention. The recently revealed image of the golden gate showcases two welcoming elephants on the central panel, while the upper part depicts a palace-like structure with two servants in a respectful posture. The lower section of the door features intricate artwork inscribed in four squares.
The meticulous craftsmanship and architectural grandeur of the temple, coupled with its commitment to accessibility for all, reflect a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity.
Nevertheless, as the nation eagerly awaits the inauguration, the event promises to be a momentous occasion that resonates with the deep-rooted cultural values embodied by the name Ram in the Indian psyche.
