It was on 13 June 1964, that CA Piyush Goyal was born to Mr. Ved Prakash Goyal and Mrs. Chandrakanta Goyal in Mumbai, Maharashtra. His journey in politics could have been pre-determined for the simple fact that both his parents were already engaged in politics.

His mother had been an MLA 3 times from Maharashtra by the BJP and his father was the Union Minister of Shipping in the Vajpayee reign of government. His father was also the treasurer for BJP for over 20 years.

He also has a son and a daughter with his wife, Seema Goyal who is an active social worker.

Though given an appropriate amount of political pedigree, he wasn’t initially forced upon in politics, and in fact, he had a rather bright academic career.

The political career of CA Piyush Goyal

Before being strictly in politics, CA Piyush Goyal was a successful and rather well-known investment banker.

It was in 1984 that he followed in his father’s footsteps and joined the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP).

Throughout his political career, he played many vital roles in the BJP political party. His finance background allowed him to engage in several financial discourses in the parliament.

Following his mettle and his capabilities, he was also appointed as the secretary of BJP in Mumbai.

The crux of the discussion is that even before becoming the minister of Railways, he was already delivering excellence to the party work. He was after all the national treasurer of the BJP before becoming a member of the Rajya Sabha. It is even said that he has close ties with Narendra Modi and Arun Jaitley(now deceased).
