Hello Readers,
Did you hear?
Kashmir faced another terror attack!

Kashmir was seeing remarkable progress as 4 years after the Modi government abrogated Article 370, the terror-laden state greeted hundreds of tourists annually, investments were coming in, colleges and cinemas were being built, and people were witnessing stability. However, all the progress was wiped out in a single dark day when terrorists entered Pahalgam and killed 26 unarmed tourists! According to J&K CM Omar Abdullah, this attack was the largest attack on civilians in recent years! However, this wasn’t a simple attack, it was religiously motivated!!
Terrorists asked and killed non-Muslims!

Distressing reports from survivors revealed that the terrorists were specifically targeting Hindus! The terrorists asked the tourists to tell their names, asked them to recite the kalima, and take off their pants before shooting them! A mother was spared by the terrorists who told her to “tell Modi”! Professor Debashish Bhattacharya, a Bengali professor at Assam University in Silchar, was spared by the terrorists because he was able to recite the ‘kalima’!! This is one of the worst religiously motivated terrorist attacks faced by India! However, Kashmir is suffering!!
Tourists are fleeing, and businesses are suffering!

While the valley called for a ‘bandh’ as people condemned the horrific attack, business has been affected. Tourists of all religions have cut their trips short, cancelled their reservations, and booked flights/trains to leave as soon as possible. 80% of tourists have cancelled future reservations in Kashmir as local bodies want people not to lose faith in the location. However, the terror attack has scared almost all potential tourists and wiped out all the progress the state has made. What is the political reaction?
All Indian parties stand united!!

Initial blame game and support from close allies like the US and Russia were expected, but what happened next was surprising. An all-party meeting was held to discuss the issue as PM Modi cut his Saudi Arabia trip short to address future plans. Security lapses and a lack of quick responses were discussed, but the outcome was fruitful. All politicians stood together to condemn the attack and promised to stand by the government! This was a rare event where the Opposition offered its full support to the government!! What did the government decide?
India has taken 5 big steps!

Soon after the cowardly terrorist attack took place, the government beefed up security, initiated a large-scale manhunt, and announced 7 major actions against Pakistan. India announced the immediate closure of the Atari border, suspension of visa services for all Pakistanis, declared Pakistani military officials in India “persona non grata” with one week to leave, and ordered all Pakistanis on SVES visa to leave India within 48 hours! Moreover, India announced that it would be reducing the strength of its High Commissions in Pakistan to 30 while simultaneously suspending the Indus Waters Treaty of 1960 immediately!! How did Pakistan react?
Pakistan has threatened war against India!!?

In a tit-for-tat move, Pakistan suspended visa services for Indians, closed its airspace for Indian flights, expelled Indian diplomats, and suspended all trade. However, Pakistan did not agree with the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty and called it an “Act of War” which would be responded against with ‘full force’! It also responded with a threat to suspend the Simla Agreement, which made the provision for the “Line of Control”! As Indians, we do not seek war, but we will not bow down to a terrorist state like Pakistan, which supports and exports terrorists! If Pakistan wants a war of destruction, India will respond with annihilation!!
Speaking of war, did you know Data Analytics can be used for war!!?
That’s right. National Security advisors can use Data Analytics to make critical wartime decisions that can change the tide of the war. Some examples are:-
- Predict enemy movement (like the US did in the Iraq war)
- Triangulate terrorist hideouts (using social media and internet usage data)
- Identifying enemy weapon caches and strongholds (by analyzing satellite imagery and geographic data)
- For cyberwarfare (to carry out/defend against cyber attacks)
- To optimize logistics (to ensure supplies and equipment reach ASAP!)
- To identify possible threats (by analyzing data from communications and shady financial transactions)
Interestingly, war is not the only field where Data Analytics is growing. With technology being applied to every aspect of our lives, companies are gathering an unprecedented amount of data every day! A recent estimate suggested that around 402.74 million TB data is generated every day!!

With an ever-growing gold mine that can boost company performance, every company now seeks competent Data Analysts who can derive the right kind of insights and help management decision-making. However, the supply is not enough to meet growing demand.
In fact, many companies are willing to pay a premium of 35-40% to bring in such individuals!!! Are you prepared to become the candidate that HRs fight over with seven-figure salaries?
