Hello Readers,

Did you hear?

Russia is pummelling Ukraine!

Russia launched a large-scale assault on Ukraine, deploying over 400 drones and missiles targeting major cities and energy infrastructure. A 500-kilogram bomb hit a shopping centre in Lysychansk, killing at least two people and injuring many. The attacks caused widespread damage to civilian areas, power facilities, and homes. Ukraine reported intense overnight bombardments across multiple regions. These strikes mark one of the most extensive air offensives in recent months, as Russia intensifies its campaign amid the ongoing war. What next?

100% Tariffs on Russia if war is not ended in 50 days: Trump!

U.S. President Donald Trump warned Russia to end the Ukraine war within 50 days or face 100% tariffs on key exports. The ultimatum is part of a broader pressure campaign linked to renewed NATO support for Ukraine. In response, Russia condemned the move and issued warnings of potential nuclear action, calling the threat of tariffs economic blackmail. Russian officials stated that such measures would further strain U.S.-Russia relations and escalate the conflict rather than lead to a resolution. By the way, did you hear?

America has designated the TRF as a ‘terrorist organization’!

In a groundbreaking move, the US has designated The Resistance Front (TRF) as a “Foreign Terrorist Organization”. Announced by the State Department, the move cites TRF's ties to Lashkar-e-Taiba and its role in violent activities. The designation subjects TRF to U.S. sanctions, including asset freezes and travel bans. It also criminalizes material support to the group under U.S. law. The U.S. emphasized that TRF has been involved in recruiting militants and planning attacks, posing a significant threat to regional stability. What was India’s reaction?

India has applauded the move!

India welcomed the U.S. decision to designate The Resistance Front (TRF) as a global terrorist group. The TRF, a proxy of Lashkar-e-Taiba, was behind the April 22 Pahalgam attack that killed 26 tourists. The U.S. listed TRF as both a Foreign Terrorist Organization and a Specially Designated Global Terrorist. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar called the move a strong affirmation of India-U.S. cooperation. Indian officials reiterated the country’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and emphasized continued global coordination. What about US-India relations?

India and the US are nearing a trade deal!!

U.S. President Donald Trump has said that the U.S. is “very close” to reaching a trade deal with India, aiming to resolve tariff-related tensions. Both sides are negotiating key issues such as market access and duty reductions. India may agree to a 10–15% tariff under an interim agreement. Trump emphasized the deal’s importance, suggesting it would enhance U.S. access to Indian markets and strengthen bilateral trade ties. Officials on both sides indicate that discussions are in their final stages as such a deal could lower tariffs for India and give the US better access to Indian markets!!
