Motivated by the goal of coming up with a better solution, Aamir came up with the name Altum, which is Latin for "high" and denotes a business that would aim for superiority in all areas. Customization would be the foundation of this perfection. With emphasis on "we reject cookie-cutter solutions," Aamir says. "Our approach is to tailor our services to perfectly match the unique talent needs of each client, ensuring a perfect fit."

But Aamir's goal went well beyond economic viability. He realized that a business succeeds when its people succeed. The tagline of Altum, "Happy employees, happy customers, happy stakeholders," embodies this people-centric mindset.

The road to becoming a successful firm is rarely easy, and Altum's was no exception. An important client's decision to relocate presented the business with a huge early setback. Aamir acknowledges that it was a setback, but they decided to use it as a teaching moment. We made use of the time to hone our strategy and make sure we could provide even better service."

The COVID-19 pandemic struck, posing a serious threat, just as Altum was gathering steam. There was a sharp decline in the need for staffing services as businesses closed. But what was evident was Aamir's steadfast spirit and his team's commitment. "We quickly adjusted," says Aamir. We concentrated on providing services that addressed the changing needs of our clients and staff by utilizing technology to stay in touch with them.
