Welcome to Jobaaj Stories, where we share inspiring stories of people who followed their ambitions and succeeded in their chosen occupations.

Meet Shreya Chanani, a CA, CFA, FRM and SRCC graduate. Life often throws unexpected challenges and obstacles at us, whether in academic careers or in professional lives. But that doesn’t mean we must be afraid of trying new things and pushing ourselves to our limits!

Let’s read about her journey to overcoming struggles and achieving success.

Early Life: Climbing the Stairs to Achieve Big

I was born and raised in Kolkata and did my undergrad at Shri Ram College at Delhi University. I try to actively participate in exchange programs, societies and competitions during my undergraduate years.

All this gave me valuable experience and helped me grow as a person. After graduation, I decided to pursue my CA, which I did while also exploring different courses like CFA and FRM.

Overcoming Challenges and Achieving Success

The road to success was not easy for me. I had to cope with the fear of missing out on spending time with friends and family due to my focusing on continuous examinations. However, I kept pushing myself beyond my comfort zone and eventually succeeded in my ventures. Post CA, I joined JP Morgan's Investment Banking division for 1.5 years.

Now, I am taking some time off to be part of my family business and get comfortable with different challenges. But I hope to return to the corporate world and put my skills to the test shortly.

Achieving Your Goals: Tips to Succeed

As someone who has been through all of this and has finally gained some much-needed clarity on my professional path, here are some tips I’d like to share with all those in a similar boat.

First and foremost, it is critical to excel in your studies. CA is a degree that can earn you a good job even if you don't have any maths skills! Maths helps you build a calculative and problem-solving attitude, but it is only a- supplement to your abilities.

If you are a finance enthusiast, you can try your hand at courses like CFA and FRM. They are highly sought after, and an in-depth understanding of them can help you gain an edge in the job market.

It is also important to note that knowledge alone does not guarantee success. Character building plays a crucial role too. CA as a course and given the challenges that it brings, has helped me build a resilient character. CFA, on other hand, has helped in learning aspects about investment and financial planning.

The most important lesson I'd want to underline is that knowing your inner goal gets you halfway there. Keep up and "don't quit in the pit" to stay strong mentally.

So go ahead and put your faith in yourself and the process. Life is a journey, and we must be ready to make the most of it no matter what happens!

I hope this post will help you get some clarity on how to go about achieving our goals.

Good luck!
