My Introduction to the Field
Like most kids, I was not much of a studious individual either in school or in college. However, I have always actively participated in project-making, solving problems, and managing and organizing fests and societies. I have always loved to create an impact through what I do and with constant learning, was always involved in sports and other extracurricular activities.
Credits to my curiosity about startups go to my time abroad. Despite my struggle in a foreign country, I focused on taking my curiosity to the next level. Drawing inspiration from Indian startups, I even founded two startups named Fitrev and Pedalpalz. Both of them turned out to be profitable. Through Pedalpalz, I even raised funds from an angel investor to serve 400+ customers. I exited from both of the startups and sold one to an investor later on.
My experience as an entrepreneur helped me access my interest in Product Management. Further, I also find product management closest to entrepreneurship. After all, great companies are built because of great products.
My Journey as a Product Manager
I have 3+ years of product management experience while working with different B2B and B2C Fintech startups. Previously, I had offers to work in various big MNCs. But, my motive to learn and grow led me to work with these backbones of the economy.
Currently, at Wealthy, my role as a product manager involves taking things from zero to one, from ideation to implementation, and everything in between. I am responsible for defining the product vision and roadmap, prioritizing features, working with cross-functional teams, and delivering the product to the market.
Working at startups has been a rollercoaster ride, and I wouldn't have it any other way. The learning curve has been steep, but it has helped me develop skills like adaptability, problem-solving, and a customer-centric approach.
My Growth as a Mentor
"When you teach something to someone, you get better yourself." This statement gets me going.
Coming from a family with a long-history in the teaching field, has imbibed in me the seed to work as a mentor. My path from learner to mentor allowed me to structure lessons for others and learn myself.
I have worked as a Mentor on platforms like Crater Club, and am currently involved with Jobaaj and Jobaaj learning. I also got featured in some talk shows and podcasts, which came to me as a pat on the back.
Till today, I have helped 150 students through 1:1 mentoring and have taught 1600+ students via workshops. These achievements have helped me reach 18k+ followers on LinkedIn. Further, if you want to connect with me, you can find me on Topmate, Crater Club, and I am also active on multiple Product Management communities.
My Future Plans
I know there are lots of things on the table already, but I plan to do an MBA from abroad, learn from the experience, network with like-minded individuals and eventually build my own startup through which I can solve user problems. Like everyone, at the end of the day, even I have a few personal goals like health, happiness, creating an impact, and an early retirement. I am working towards achieving them on a daily basis.
Believing in myself has always been a part of my life. Despite some struggles in different aspects of life, I have always believed in myself and kept going.
The quote I live by is,
"Humble enough to know that I am far from perfect, confident enough to know I can do anything I set my mind to."
Throughout my journey as a Product Manager, I have realized that building and growing startups, teams, and products give me an adrenaline rush. From my introduction to the field to my expertise, I have worked on my self-improvement. With a vision of working for startups and building my own, I have progressed. From helping many aspiring product managers to clear their doubts and to mentoring more, I can say that I am halfway down to my goals.
If you are interested in product management and want to learn more, I am willing to help through my free workshops. Connecting with people of similar interests on a learning platform can help you expand your knowledge and explore possible opportunities.
