Hezbollah is willing to enter the war!

Israel has been attacked by Hezbollah on its northern front and it carried out multiple in Lebanon in response. Hezbollah recently launched dozens of rockets into northern Israel in retaliation as there is a chance of a Hezbollah joining the fray! Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of Hezbollah, recently announced that it did not want a ‘total war’ but if they did, no place in Israel would be safe from their rockets! But Israel is not the only country Hezbollah has threatened!

Hezbollah has threatened Cyprus!

Cyprus and Israel have a bilateral defense cooperation agreement as both countries have conducted joint exercises in the past. After Israeli generals announced plans to expand the war, Hezbollah issued a threat to Cyprus, claiming that if Cyprus opened its territory to Israel to target Lebanon, they would consider Cyprus a party to the war! Cyprus has denied being involved in the war as it maintained neutrality. However, Israel is facing several issues domestically.

Netanyahu has dissolved the Israeli war cabinet!

In the middle of Israel’s worst war, PM Benjamin Netanyahu dissolved the six-member war cabinet that was overseeing the conflict in Gaza. The war cabinet was formed as part of an agreement for Benny Gantz and his National Unity Party to form an emergency coalition. Since Gantz resigned last week, PM Netanyahu told ministers that the cabinet was no longer necessary! This termination will allow PM Netanyahu to solidify his control of the war. But Israelis are not happy.

Israelis are protesting against Netanyahu!

Thousands of protesters took to the streets of Jerusalem as they were calling for fresh elections. PM Netanyahu still has a majority in the Israeli Parliament, the Knesset, and is calling all the shots in the war. However, citizens, especially the families of the hostages, are discontent with Netanyahu’s handling of the war and his inability to strike a deal for the hostages’ release. The protesters stated that every day with Netanyahu handling the war was driving Israel to its destruction! Only time will tell how this war will end.

Latest media reports suggest that the Big 4 firms: Deloitte, KPMG, EY, and PwC are on a hiring spree in India. Deloitte, in particular, has announced 10,000 new job openings in the country! In fact, these firms are going so far as to poach employees from each other!

Skilled employees are being offered higher packages by these firms simply to bring them over. Interestingly, it is not limited to employees. As the companies scale up their businesses and presence in India, their partners are also being poached. Deloitte alone is bringing in 50 new partners in the upcoming months with almost 25 being from KPMG!!!

But weren’t these companies laying employees off?

Indeed. These companies have been firing scores of employees across global offices, but are actively hiring in India for two main reasons:-

• Firstly, India is a growing economy. With India being the fastest-growing major economy, these companies see a rise in auditing and consultation services. Thus, these companies are expanding their presence in the country to take advantage of the opportunity using their brand value and resources.
• Secondly, India has the greatest number of educated youngsters. With a median age of only 28.7, India has the youngest demographic in all major economies and has an improving education system. With relaxed labour laws and cheap labour due to a weak currency, these companies get competent workers from India for global work!!
