Trump has delayed tariffs!

After plunging the world into chaos with his announcement of tariffs on Canada, Mexico, and China, US President Donald Trump has performed a 180-degree-flip and postponed the tariffs on Canada and Mexico by one month! The postponement began by exempting auto imports from the two countries and was expanded to exclude all goods covered under the USMCA Trade Agreement. This resulted in both Canada and Mexico holding off their counter-tariffs and giving markets a relief on trade concerns. What about China?

China called the US ‘two-faced’!

In a scathing reply, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has accused the US of carrying out “two-faced acts”. He slammed the US for imposing punitive tariffs on China despite the latter’s help in combatting the US’ rising fentanyl issue. “No country should fantasize that it can suppress China and maintain a good relationship with China at the same time,” Wang said while stating that America’s tariffs were not good for maintaining bilateral relations or developing trust while simultaneously threatening retaliation!! Pakistan ordered Afghan migrants to leave!

In a major blow to vulnerable Afghan migrants, the Pakistani government has once again ordered Afghan migrants to leave Pakistan! The directive orders all Afghan Citizen Card (ACC) holders to leave Pakistani territory by 31st March. If they don’t, such migrants will be forcefully deported from 1st April onward! This move is in line with the Sharif government’s claims that Afghan nationals were responsible for most terror and militant attacks in the country. Did you hear about the recent attack?

Pakistan faced another terror attack!

Despite muslims entering their holy period of Ramadan, Pakistan sees no relief as terrorist attacks continue. Earlier last week, a suicide bomber killed six and injured over 20 in an attack on a mosque after prayers! In another attack, two suicide bombers drove explosives-laden vehicles into the military base located in Bannu, northwestern Pakistan, killing 18 people, including 6 children! Finally, authorities in Islamabad were on high alert after they barely repelled an attack by terrorists on an outpost! Events like these helped improve Pakistan’s rank.

Pakistan ranks second on the Global Terrorism Index!!

According to a report published by the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP), Pakistan is the second most terrorism affected country in the world behind Burkina Faso! The country faced 1,081 terror-related deaths in 2024, 45% higher annually! The number of terror attacks doubled to 1,099 in 2024 with the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) accounting for 52% of all attacks. Moreover, the group was responsible for 558 deaths in 2024, up 90% from 2023! This goes on to show how fragile Pakistan’s domestic security condition is. PM Sharif has slammed the attacks and has vowed to eradicate all terrorists on Pakistani soil, but it is uncertain when that will happen.

However, only 1% of respondents believe their AI investments have reached maturity while 92% plan to invest more in the next 3 years!

This indicates that the market is all set to grow more in the next 5 years!!

Moreover, Indian companies are also taking this trend seriously. HCL Tech has announced its plan to train 20,000 employees in Generative AI every quarter! With the application of AI expanding rapidly, Generative AI is becoming one of the most important fields in which every employee needs to upskill!!
