Arvind Kejriwal claims BJP poisoned Yamuna river!

Arvind Kejriwal, the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, has accused the BJP-led Haryana government of poisoning the Yamuna river water! He claims that the Delhi Jal Board, under his supervision, stopped the water from coming into Delhi, claiming that if they failed to do so, it would have caused a genocide! His letter states that the water contains extreme levels of ammonia that are harmful to human health and that this was similar to “biological warfare”! How did others react?

Delhi Jal Board has denied the claims!

In a sharp blow to Arvind Kejriwal’s claims, the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has denied his claims. Shilpa Shinde, the CEO of the DJB, wrote a letter to the Delhi Chief Secretary wherein she called Kejriwal’s claims “factually incorrect, without basis, and misleading”! She chalked up the increased ammonia levels to reduced flow while citing the DJB’s and Haryana government’s plans to clean such water. She also asked him to escalate the matter to LG Saxena since such fear-mongering statements would harm inter-state relations! What else?

BJP has slammed Kejriwal’s remarks!

Kejriwal’s remarks have unleashed a war of words as BJP chief J.P. Nadda has demanded an apology while blaming Kejriwal for being unable to clean Yamuna over the last 10 years, as once promised. Haryana’s CM has warned of legal action and Union Home Minister Amit Shah called Kejriwal out, demanding him to name the poison and publicize the reports he claims show poison in Yamuna! He called Kejriwal a serial liar and blamed him for turning Delhi into a garbage dump and polluting Yamuna! What about Congress?

Congress has condemned AAP’s words!

In what appears to be an end to their alliance, the Indian National Congress has also spoken against AAP. Congress Leader Ajay Maken raised concerns over the truth behind Kejriwal’s statements while calling it “treason”! Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi called Kejriwal the “architect of the liquor scam” and called Kejriwal a ‘bigger liar’ than PM Modi! Finally, Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera called Kejriwal out over using fake CAG reports and called him out to debate over the actual CAG reports that exposed him! What is Kejriwal’s response?

Kejriwal has accused the EC!

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has termed Kejriwal’s poisoning comment a statement that promoted “disharmony and enmity” between groups while contributing to public disorder and unrest! Kejriwal claims that he broke no laws and that the statement was made in public interest! He also slammed the ECI, claiming that the ECI Chief Rajiv Kumar was politicizing the controversy, was seeking a post-retirement job, and destroyed the credibility of the ECI! Despite it all, one thing remains unchanged.
