Trump brought Sunita Williams back!

After over 9 months in space, astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore have finally made it back to Earth! For those unaware, both astronauts flew to the ISS in June last year but were left stranded after their spaceship developed propulsion issues! After Williams’ successful splashdown off of Florida’s coast, she received praise from leaders worldwide. Her ancestral village in Gujarat erupted into celebration as the West Bengal CM called for a Bharat Ratna for Williams! President Trump has fulfilled his promise of bringing both astronauts back. But all isn’t well for Trump.

Trump has been asked to return the Statue of Liberty!!

In a strange demand, French politician Raphael Glucksmann has called for the return of the Statue of Liberty to France! He accused Trump of ‘siding with tyrants’ and imposing sharp tariffs despite the countries’ friendly relations and claimed that the US hated Lady Liberty. Thus, he called for its return, claiming she would be “happy” with the French! Interestingly, Glucksmann’s claims have no support from the French government. Moreover, the White House has clearly stated that the US would “absolutely not” be relinquishing the statue! What else?

Trump has attacked the Houthis!

In a sharp escalation in West Asia, President Trump has ordered airstrikes on Houthi strongholds in Yemen! This comes days after the Houthis vowed to renew attacks on ships passing through the Red Sea to pressure Israel into resuming aid flow into Gaza! This prompted Trump to launch massive airstrikes against Houthi strongholds, claiming the lives of over 50 civilians! Moreover, he has warned Iran to stop supplying the Houthis and that the strikes would be “unrelenting”, making sure that the Houthis are “completely annihilated” if they didn’t stop attacking US ships!! What was the response?

Houthis and Iran have issued warnings!

With the US pounding militant targets in Yemen, the Houthis have retaliated. They fired missiles and drones against US aircraft carriers as they launched 4 attacks against the fleet in 72 hours! While the US managed to negate all these attacks, the Houthis have vowed to keep fighting until the US stops attacking Yemeni people! Moreover, Iran’s Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has called the US’ strikes a “crime that must be stopped”! Moreover, the IRGC has vowed to fight against all threats! What about Russia and Ukraine?

New 30-day ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine!!

In the largest de-escalation in the Russia-Ukraine war since the conflict began in February 2022, both Russia and Ukraine have agreed to a 30-day partial ceasefire! According to the US-brokered agreement, both Russia and Ukraine will refrain from targeting critical energy infrastructure. While Putin has ruled out a complete ceasefire, the US claims that both parties have never been closer to peace! However, cracks are appearing as Russia claims that a Ukrainian drone strike had breached the agreement. Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskky has called for Putin to stop his “unreasonable demands”!! Whatever the case may be, the US has its hands full!
