The US is threatening to stop military aid for Israel!

The USA, one of Israel’s greatest allies, has announced that it was planning to halt the shipment of some American weapons to Israel. This is the first time that the US has spoken out against Israel’s military operations in Gaza against Hamas as it claims that Israel used its bombs to deliberately target population centres! This is inarguably the biggest geopolitical development in this seven-month-long war! But that’s not the end of it!!

The US has accused Israel of violating international law!

In another announcement, the Biden administration has announced that the Israeli military has violated international law using American weapons! Based on inconclusive evidence, a US report to Congress stated that considering Israel’s dependence on US arms, the IDF failed to act in accordance with its International Humanitarian Law obligations to mitigate civilian harm! This is the first direct accusation that the US has hurled on Israel!! But that is not stopping Israel!

Israel has announced further evacuations in Rafah!

Earlier last week, Israel launched its ground operation in Rafah following its goal to eradicate Hamas. Israel announced further evacuations in Rafah as it planned to expand its operation. Going against global warnings, Israeli troops raided Rafah as a UN report claims almost 80,000 people have fled Gaza city! However, Israel has suffered a major diplomatic defeat in the UN, one that has potentially derailed its entire war effort!!

The UN passed a resolution supporting Palestine’s membership!

In a shocking development, a United Nations resolution has been passed in support of Palestinian membership with an overwhelming majority! The resolution saw 143 nations (including India) support Palestine’s UN membership while only 9 voted against! While not a member yet, the Palestinian Authority has been given the right to sit among members, submit proposals and amendments, and has received a ‘right to reply’!! While many rejoiced, the Israeli envoy took a rather drastic step.

Israeli envoy has ripped the UN Charter!!

Israeli Ambassador Gilad Erdan took the chance to speak as he shredded a paper titled ‘The UN Charter’ in front of the entire assembly! He spoke of how the UN blindly rewarded ‘modern day Nazis’ with rights and privileges and gave mass murderers recognition! He called the resolution a violation of the UN Charter since it subverted a US veto at the UNSC last month as he boldly stated ‘Shame on you’ before getting off the podium. What has the world come to?

Students from top colleges are unable to get placed!

We are not lying. Students from some of the most elite colleges in the country are unable to land summer internships or jobs as this is an unprecedented issue that the country is facing today! Do not believe us?

Here’s the stats for some of India’s top colleges:-

• IIM Lucknow reached out to its 2011 batch to place 72 individuals who could not be placed!
• IIT Kharagpur was unable to place 33% of its students last year!
• 46% of IIT Hyderabad students are still waiting to get placed!
• A staggering 69% of IIT Dharwad’s students are waiting for jobs!
• 22% of students from IIT Delhi who registered for placement between 2019-23 could not get placed!
• 45% students at IIT Madras are still unplaced!
• 46% students from IIT Tirupati are still unemployed!
• 36% students from IIT Bombay’s latest batch could not be placed!
• Only 65 out of IIM Sambalpur’s batch of 195 could get placed with only 30 receiving pre-placement offers!!
• 44% students from IIT Indore are still awaiting placements as the average CTC from the college has fallen 12.2%!
  A record 59% students from IIT Gandhinagar have failed to secure jobs!
• At IIT ISM Dhanbad, 642 out of 1595 students are yet to be placed, the highest in 3 years!
• A little over 40% of IIT BHU’s students haven’t secured any offers from companies!
• IIM Bangalore failed to get summer internships for 100 students, resulting in one in six students not getting any placements!!!

But why?

Due to an overall economic slowdown. Companies are being cautious with who they hire as global economic conditions have tempted companies to be selective about who they hire. Does that mean we don’t have a chance?
