Ireland, Norway, and Spain have recognized the Palestinian State!

In a shocking development, Ireland, Norway, and Spain have announced their decision to recognize Palestine as an independent state! The leaders stated that the recognition was not a move against Israelis or in favour of Hamas but in favour of peace and coexistence. Norwegian PM Jonas Gahr Støre announced that this move was an “investment in the only solution that can bring lasting peace in the Middle East”! How did Israel react?

Israel has called back its ambassadors!

Israel has slammed the move as it recalled its ambassadors from the three countries and called the move by the three nations a ‘reward for terrorism’! Israeli foreign minister Katz announced that the recognition would impede Israel’s efforts to recover the hostages and be a reward for the jihadists of Iran and Hamas! However, this is not the only external threat that Israel currently faces!

The ICJ has ordered Israel to halt its Rafah offensive!

The International Court of Justice has ordered Israel to immediately cease its military assault on Rafah as the humanitarian situation worsened in Gaza. These orders were issued by the ICJ at the request of South Africa as part of its genocide case against Israel. According to the order, Israel has to report back to the court in one month about the progress in applying such measures and reopen the Rafah border with Egypt for humanitarian aid. But that’s not all!

The court’s prosecutor now wants Netanyahu arrested!

Prosecutor Karim Khan has announced that the ICC is now seeking arrest warrants against Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Defence Minister Yaov Gallant, and Hamas leaders like Yahya Sinwar and Mohammed Deif on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity! A group of judges from the ICC are set to consider Khan’s appeals for such warrants which is placing a group of terrorists and an elected government on the same level!

Netanyahu has slammed the orders!

PM Netanyahu’s office has rejected the accusations of genocide and called them ‘false and outrageous’! Moreover, he called the decision of his arrest a ‘political outrage’ as he remained firm in his resolve to see the war to its end where Hamas would be destroyed! What has the world come to? A country fighting against terrorism is being scrutinized and its leaders are put up for arrest for a war they didn’t initiate. What a bizarre situation!!

According to the latest media reports quoting official figures from all 23 IITs obtained via RTI applications, almost 8,000 IITians from the 2023-24 placement drive are yet to find jobs!!

This means that 38% of students who registered for campus placements are yet to find jobs! To make matters worse, the pay packages are declining! While there are students who managed to nab a Rs 1-2 crore salary package, the median salary has declined to Rs 17 lakhs per annum! Moreover, many annual packages have declined to below Rs 10 lakhs per annum in the range of Rs 3.6 lakhs to Rs 6 lakhs per annum!!

Interestingly, many companies are not even hiring as they are taking in interns and paying them Rs 60,000-80,000 annually!

Gone are the golden days when simply entering into an IIT guaranteed a great salary and a bright future! But why?
